Learn about the Mexican holiday, the Day of the Dead, as you decorate a sugar skull, make a paper flower, add to Spark’s papel picado, and so much more. Visitors will also have the opportunity to honor their ancestors and see an exhibit of Oaxacan wood carvings.
Admission is $5 per person. Members of Spark receive free admission. Children will receive one sugar skull to decorate. Adults can pay an additional $2 to decorate a sugar skull.
“We are so excited for our Day of the Dead event at Spark! The holiday is a wonderful way to remember our friends and family and to celebrate their lives,” says Julie Bryan, Executive Director of Spark! Imagination and Science Center.
Visitors can also explore Spark’s hands-on exhibits during the event, including our new additions to out engineering exhibit and our brand new exhibit, The Sun, Earth, Universe, an engaging and interactive exhibition about Earth and space science for family audiences. Plus, dig for pretend dinosaur fossils, build a ball ramp, explore nanoscience, play dress up, and much more.
